Our Story:
A Legacy of Love and Land

It All Began Under an Oak.

In 1967, long before the barn was built, there was a field and an old oak tree. That’s where Sheila and I spent our first dates, dreaming of a future and a home. For over 58 years, we’ve tended this land off Whitehouse Road in Lloyd. Today, that original tree still stands in our backyard—a silent witness to a lifetime of marriage, family, and the faithfulness of God.

A Mission of Ministry.

The Homestead Barn was born from a desire to do more than just host events; we wanted to steward a space for the spirit. In the early 2000s, this property became a training ground for young men seeking a "right of passage" toward Godly manhood. By 2006, we established Homestead Ministries, Inc. to reach those on the fringe.

That same heart for ministry is what built this barn. We dreamed of a place where couples could get a "good start" to a journey that lasts a lifetime, and where the community could gather in a space that feels like home.

93 Acres of Presence and Purpose.

Today, The Homestead Barn is a premier 93-acre estate featuring 6,400+ square feet of thoughtfully designed event space. Surrounded by mossy oaks, plantation pines, and golden hickory trees, the property is a certified Agritourism farm that honors the heritage of North Florida.

Whether you are planning a wedding, a corporate retreat, or a family milestone, we invite you to experience what God has allowed us to manage alongside Him. There is much more to the story and we would love to share it with you in person.

Experience
Southern Hospitality

What makes us different is that we treat your big day like a part of our own family story. As a fifth-generation farm, we know that the best memories aren't made when you're rushing around; they happen when you have the time and space to actually enjoy the people you love. That is why we offer weekend-long packages that let you slow down and soak it all in.

From the shade of our massive 245-year-old oak trees to the air-conditioned comfort of the barn, we’ve made sure every detail feels both high-end and like home. We aren't just a business, we are a ministry of hospitality. When you celebrate here, you’re on land that has been loved for generations, and we’re honored to help you start your own legacy right here with us.
